University - Toppenish
Main Campus – from Western Washington

- Depending on your location, take either Highway 12 over
White Pass or I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass to Yakima.
- Stay on Highway I-82 through Yakima to Exit 37. The sign
reads To Highway 97/Goldendale. Take this exit and drive south on Hwy 97. An
alternate route is to drive south from Yakima on First Street to the Hwy 97
entrance (take the ramp on the left).
- Continue several miles on Hwy 97. You will come to the
first Wapato stoplight at West First Street/West Wapato Road. The Fort
Restaurant will be on your right. Do not turn here. Continue south on Hwy 97.
- After you pass the Dan Doornick athletic field at Wapato
High School (on the left), you will come to the stoplight at South Camas
Avenue/South Wapato Road. There is an Exxon gas station on the left. The
distance between the first Wapato stoplight and the second is 1 mile.
- Turn right onto South Wapato Road. As you turn, you will
see a small green sign that reads Heritage University.
- Proceed approximately 3.5 miles until you come to the
stop sign at Fort Road. This is the first stop sign you will come to along
South Wapato Road.
- At the stop sign, turn left onto Fort Road. Drive 1 mile
to Heritage University. The main part of the campus will be on your right.
- The trip from Exit 37 to the campus takes 20 to 30
minutes.
- Drive past the front of the University to the parking
lot. You may park anywhere in the parking lot except the reserved spaces.
Please use the parking lot. Cars parked along the side of the either Fort Road
or South McKinley Road get towed away.
- The Student Services Center is located on the south end
of the parking lot. The Library/Learning Center is located on the west side of
the parking lot. Petrie Hall is just west of the library building.
Main Campus - from Eastern
Washington
- Take the shortest route you know to the Tri-Cities. In
Pasco, get on I-82 and follow the signs directing you to Richland/Yakima.
Continue on I-82 for approximately an hour. You will pass the towns of Benton
City, Prosser, Grandview, Sunnyside and Outlook. The next town will be
Granger.
- Take the Granger exit and turn left onto Highway 223.
Follow Hwy 223 until you come to the stop sign approximately 3.5 miles from
the Granger exit.
- At the stop sign, turn right onto Highway 22 (Hwy 22
becomes Hwy 97 in Toppenish).
- In Toppenish, turn left at the second stoplight onto
Fort Road. You will see signs directing you to the Yakama Nation Legends
Casino. Washington Beef will be on the corner. Proceed 3 miles on Fort Road.
Heritage University will be on your left.
- Turn into the parking lot that comes before the campus
buildings. You may park anywhere in the parking lot except the reserved
spaces. Please use the parking lot. Cars parked along the side of either Fort
Road or South McKinley Road get towed away.
- The Student Services Center is located on the south end
of the parking lot. The Library/Learning Center is located on the west side of
the parking lot. Petrie Hall is just west of the library building.
Building Access:
All buildings are open
during weekdays and regular business hours. On weekends and after hours, the
custodians unlock and lock doors to ensure instructors and students have access
to their classrooms.
If for some reason a
building is not unlocked, a custodian is on duty for your assistance from 7:30
am to 4:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. The number to call is 509-961-4303.
Other emergency contact
information is posted on entrances and exits of all buildings.
Please remember to use the
classroom you have been assigned to ensure the custodian knows to unlock the
building/room.
